1-Do you accept insurance?
Happily, No. Insurance complicates the relationship between the physician and patient. It leads to mountains of paperwork for a doctor to comply with what insurance wants, more wait time for patient to be seen, and less time spent with patient. This way, without third party involvement, medicine can be practiced again, relationship between physician and patient can be restored.
2- Is this Concierge Medicine?
Yes and No. Yes as it provides same benefits of good personable care for patients, and no because it’s not expensive as concierge. This is Affordable Concierge Medicine. DPC (Direct Primary Care) is not for wealthy people only; it’s for everyone. The cost is less than paying a monthly phone bill, cable bill, or Starbucks coffee daily.
3- Is this tax deductible?
This is a gray area. You will need to discuss with your tax professional/accountant for this. I will be happy to discuss it with your accountant if necessary to explain what DPC is about.
4- How many patients does a Direct Primary care practice care for?
Enrollment is generally limited to 600 patients maximum. The average varies but generally from 200-400 patients. A traditional primary care clinic/practice maintains approximately 1500 to 3000 patients. By keeping our total member enrollment low, we can continue to offer the benefits of Direct Primary Care, with physician accessibility and individualized care.
5- Do you take Medicare patients?
Unfortunately, we can not accept Medicare patients at this time. Dr Soliman will be opted out of Medicare. However, if you’re interested, Dr. Soliman can privately contract with Medicare beneficiary patient in the future. That means you can still see Dr. Soliman, but we will not bill Medicare, and you will NOT be able to submit bill for re-reimbursement. You can be added to the waitlist once opting out process is completed!
6- What if I needs labs or imaging done?
If you have insurance, you can use your insurance, just as in a traditional family medicine/primary care clinic. If you do not, we have negotiated for our patients discounted pricing for labs through local labs, with upfront cost, and no bills weeks later!
7- I have a lot of health problems? Do you still accept me to enroll?
Absolutely!!! Monthly membership is the same as offered in schedule of fees regardless of pre-existing conditions. In fact, we will be happier to see you!!!, and you’ll benefit more out of this model. As a patient with multiple medical conditions, you need to have regular follow up, possible regular lab/imaging testing, and even more in-office testing and treating. With more accessibility to your physician, same day or next day visits, it means less visits to the urgent care, emergency department, and hospital stays. This is more cost effective for you!
8- What if I’m healthy and rarely see my doctor?
This is a great problem to have!!! Dr. Soliman has special interest in preventive medicine, which means we will try our best to keep you healthy, prevent disease process, and offer counseling on nutrition, exercise, and well-being. Whether you’re away on vacation, at work, or staying with children can’t leave the house, not sure if your sore throat is Strep throat or just a minor cold, we’ll be here for you!! No wait time for your visit, no wait time in the waiting room, and you may not even need to walk into office, as you may be able to reach the doctor through telemedicine (phone call, video chat), and medications can be sent directly to your pharmacy. You’ll keep a low premium, high deductible plan for unforeseen circumstances, such as surgery or hospital stay.
9- What if I need to see a specialist?
We can make referrals like any traditional primary care doctor (unless you have an HMO, this can sometimes be tricky as insurance would require you to have a PCP who’s in network). However, here you’ll have longer visits to discuss your health issues, offer more testing/services in office, to minimize referrals.
10- What if I need to be admitted to the hospital?
You will have personal access to Dr. Soliman, once an agreement is placed, which means prevention of simple illness to deteriorate into a complication needing a hospital stay. However, if you feel you’re having a medical emergency, or a life-threatening event, call 911 immediately!!!
While no one can predict when a stroke or heart attack will occur, the goal of the practice is to minimize the risk factors, and prevent such events. If it does happen, you still need insurance to cover for hospitalization and surgeries. Hospitals now keep Hospitalists (physicians who will stay in the hospital to admit and care for patients), but Dr. Soliman will not be the admitting physician. We will make sure to coordinate care, and see you within 3 days of discharge, as necessary.

11- What if I don’t have health insurance?
We do recommend you maintain a low premium, high deductible insurance plan! But, of course you can be a patient of Trust Direct Primary Care practice, and we will try to get you discounted labs and imaging pricing from local labs and imaging centers.
12- What if I already have insurance, can I still join the practice? and why would I do that if I already have insurance?
If you have insurance, that’s perfect! It will cover for the big expenses, such as hospital stays, surgeries, specialists visits, imaging, and labs as you normally would use it. You can absolutely join New Light DPC. Now, if you’re worried about “double paying”, don’t forget you already do! You pay for your premium, and then again with your deductible, in addition to out of pocket! With Trust Direct Primary Care, you know the cost, your monthly fee, and no other co-pays, deductibles, or out of pocket bills coming weeks later!!
13- What do you Not do?
Dr Soliman doesn’t treat chronic pain, prescribe long term Narcotics nor will carry narcotics in office! She doesn’t offer anxiolytics to patients as option of care. It is not the standard, best, care and therefore resorts to what’s evidence based medicine to take care of patients. Practice doesn’t provide prenatal care(obstetrics), well child visits, and will not provide in office vaccinations.
